I wanted a sandwich. I was going to hit up a chain, but decided that, for the money, I could do better with a local place. I looked around online for the best sandwiches in the downtown area and kept seeing Hero Factory come up. I decided to give it a try.
The place was nothing special. The establishment itself was overcrowded with chairs to the point where you had to bump into people already seated in order to find a table. The staff was rude and inattentive. I wasn't loving it.
But it was the sandwich that made things worse. I got the vegetarian hero. It was so bland and boring. Subway is better. Veggie sandwiches can be awesome. There's no reason for me to pay money for flavorless blah. The bread tasted old and came out of a plastic bag. If this is the New York experience, New York can keep it.
