  • My roommate and I share 4 amazing dogs. We feel that our dogs are our children and they are really important to both of us. We have been going to Craig Road Animal Hospital since we moved to the area and love it. The first time we used their services it was late at night. One of my male dogs had been neutered the day before at another facility, he jumped off the couch when I wasnt looking and started screaming relentlessly. I was so worried about him that I wanted to take him in immediately but it was 930pm and every office i knew of was long closed. Thanks to this hospitals amazing hours I was able to bring him in and even though they were 15 minutes from closing they still saw us. That visit we saw Dr. Whitcraft and I found her to be very knowledgeable and compassionate. She could tell that the incision site was irritated but reassured me that everything was still intact and she even thought outside the box and realized that the cone that had been given to us may have been the wrong size and was hitting his incision site. Brilliant! She changed out his cone and within a day his incision was already less irritated and red. This experience hooked us and we decided to use this hospital as our standard office for veterinary services. We have since been to see them for routine stuff like vaccinations and anal glad expressions as well as emergencies and even a litter of unexpected puppies. Our vet for the litter happened to be Dr. Hagstette everytime we brought them in for check ups and she was wonderful. She was calm, caring, very thorough, and not judgemental which was so great. We had one of our other male dogs neutered here and being in the medical field myself I can say that the surgical site was wonderfully mended and his recovery was quick due to such great surgical work. As a result of that experience we had our female dog spayed here about two weeks ago. They offer both a standard spay at a discounted price and a laproscopic spay (that is approximately 3 times the cost but offers a less painful and much speedier recovery). We chose the Lap Spay because her pain level and a speedy recovery were very important to us. In full disclosure our girl was cut in several places on her belly by the razor when they shaved her prior to her surgery. This infuriated us as it caused her unnecessary pain and we contacted the hospital administrator, Mike Falconer, with our complaint. He met us with excellent customer service. Mike admitted their error and apologized for it. He asked us to bring her back in to be evaluated at thier cost and offered us medicine at no cost to us to help her skin abrasions heal. I thought it was great that both he and the vet who did her spay admitted the error and apologized. I am certain it was an honest accident and the fact that they were apologetic was reassuring. After discussion with Mike he even offered us a generous credit as compensation since we felt that we didn't get the service that we paid extra for as a result of their mistake. Overall, we love this office and will continue to be loyal and referring customers (we have already reffered 4 of our friends to this facility). I have had some difficulty with the front desk staff but that is minimal and really not reason enough for us to leave. They have amazing hours for a vet office, great caring staff, and compassionate and knowledgeable veterinarians. Every business no matter what the sevice will have problems and mistakes but what really makes an excellent business is the way they handle these problem occurances. It has been proven to us through experience that the customer service at Craig Road Animal hospital is superb and we will continue to use them for all of our "fur babies"!
