| - I'm the first Yelper for this place! I was driving from L.A. to Scottsdale with my wife and two small kids on a Friday afternoon, when we got into a car accident near Buckeye, totaling our vehicle. Thank goodness, no one was hurt, however we were stranded in the middle of the Arizona desert with all of our luggage and no means of transportation. To make matters even more difficult for us, the sun was nearly setting and we were heading into our observed sabbath, in which we could not ride in a car for the next 25 hours until Saturday night. The Buckeye police offered to drive us to this nearby Holiday Inn Express off I-10.
The hotel staff was extremely sympathetic to our stressful situation and offered us a room at a very generous rate. They also arranged a rental car for us, so I wouldn't have to worry about a means for transportation after the sabbath.
Most importantly, the staff was extremely accommodating to our religious needs: With normal check-out at 12:00 noon, our family would not be able to leave the hotel until the end of sabbath, after 7PM. The front-desk clerk (Jacob was his name, I believe), went above and beyond and offered us an extension on our room until 7PM, at no extra charge! That enabled us the opportunity to give our toddler a nap and rest up ourselves.
Also notably, this hotel is brand new, was extremely clean and modern, offers up a nice free continental breakfast every morning, newspapers, free wifi, and a pool plus Jacuzzi.
A little customer service can truly go a long way, and we thank the kind folks at H.I. Express in Buckeye for all their service.
