| - I love this place and have been super impressed with the customer service, among other things. Here's my giant list of things I love about this gym:
+ Most affordable gym in this neighborhood. (I don't own a car, so I needed a gym within a short walk or bike from my home.)
+ Payment plan is once every two weeks, and you can put it on hold as needed. This feels especially convenient for me because I travel frequently, so I don't have to cancel the entire month if I'm out for just 10 days
+ Staff is friendly and helpful
+ Open 24 hours
+ It's a new location, so shiny and clean!
++ Private shower / changing rooms and gender neutral bathrooms!
++ Free monthly "in-body" measurement (weight, lean mass, body fat percentage, hydration, etc and segmental analysis) which is super fun for tracking your progress. (Disclaimer: I'm a scientist)
++ Access to any Anytime Fitness location (I consider this a super bonus because there is an AF near UW campus and an AF close to where I stay in MA, which I go to frequently for work. However, I have yet to visit another location.)
The only cons:
- Okay, it's pretty small. That being said, it's enough for me (ellipticals, row machine, TRX, kettle bells, free weights, foam rollers). And there are a ton of weight lifting machines I don't use. Just don't go here if you are looking for an indoor track.
- There is supposed to be an expansion project in the winter, which I'm not looking forward to. However, this is offset by access to other AF locations.
Neutral:
They give you a free heart rate monitor. When you wear it, they send you an email at the end of your workout with a little report (similar format as fit bit). The only thing is that it's the chest strap monitor, which can be a little awkward at times. But you can't really complain, because its FREE.
So why only four out of five stars? The only thing that would make this Anytime Fitness 100% perfect would be access to hot tub and sauna for relaxation. Maybe at a different location?
