| - -As 1st time parents we were very anxious we didn't have the necessary items we needed if baby were to come early. After our 1st shower we came to buy a car seat/stroller, bedding & other items. I had received a 15% off coupon email for 1 full price item, I presented to the cashier & was informed the coupon was expired by 1 day. I'm in retail I know how coupons work, it was the associate's attitude that upset me. She rolled her eyes at us and said "you can't use the coupon it's expired, you should look at the date." Again I know coupons expire, but spending $400 on a car seat/stroller, the savings would have been nice. I forgot to mention we spent about $750.
-After 2nd shower, we had items that we didn't care for. Brought them in to a rude & disrespectful associate at customer service. Our plan was to return, then purchase the items we needed. Associate asked us for our gift receipts which we had only 2, so the rest would need to be returned off our registry. Didn't believe this would be an issue since our understanding is this is 1 of the benefits of your registry. I guess I was wrong since the associate didn't understand why we didn't have receipts nor why we thought we could return without 1. I have a hard time believing I am the first customer whom returned items after a baby shower without a receipt! The associate was short in her responses & continued to roll her eyes & huff at us. She finally figures it out, returns everything & provides us a merchandise credit after 20 minutes.
-We received a boppy that wasn't the color we wanted but our location was out of the color. We drove across town to location to see if they had it. We entered the building to a warm smile & friendly greeting. A surprise compared to our previous experience at the Stephanie location. We took the boppy to the register with our gift receipt inside. I head to the boppy aisle to see if they have the one we want & they are also out of stock, we ask to leave the boppy at the cash wrap while we do some shopping. We needed a swing & bouncer both of which were out of stock. The same warm & friendly associate assisted us in placing an online order. She was amazing & by far the best associate we have experienced at either location.
-2 days later through our lists verifying we have everything we need, realize the boppy is missing. It dawned on me we left it at the Rainbow location. I immediately call the store & ask to speak to the manager. I explained the situation & gave her every detail. She placed me on hold, came back to the phone a few moments later saying "we don't have anything, sorry." This is unacceptable to me, so I told her I was not going to lose my boppy. There had to be something she could do. She said she would review the tapes & get back to me the next day. I knew the boppy was there, my gut told me it must be on the shelf. So I drove across town to the Rainbow location. Enter the building, no warm greeting, head to the boppy aisle where there are 4 of the color. I look through the boppys', what do you know, my boppy sitting on the shelf with the gift receipt inside! An associate pointed out the manager, so I head to the register & ask manager if she is the one I just spoke to regarding a boppy. She says "I don't know what you are talking about." At this point I'm ready to explode, I do everything I can to remain calm. I said this is my boppy, I just found on your shelf with gift receipt inside. Wouldn't you think the first place you would check would be the shelf? She asked what I wanted to do. I said I just want to take it home. She put her head down & said you can go. This was 8 days ago, I still have yet to hear back from the manager who was "going to review the tapes." This leads me to believe that I either spoke to the manager & she was embarrassed to admit she made a mistake or the manager didn't care to review the tapes. Either way atrocious.
-My final experience was back at the Stephanie location. I had 3 items to return that I had purchased off our registry but forgot my receipt. Once again I didn't think this would be a problem since I just wanted to get store credit in exchange for a few more item's we needed in addition to my return. The associate said she needed my ID to do a no receipt return. I asked why she wasn't looking up my registry to make the return. She said this was "easier," which I replied ok thinking this was odd. When she gave me the amount it less than half of what I paid, so I questioned the total. She rolled her eyes at me & said "what do you want me to do." I said pull up my registry, refund me the amount I paid. Another associate overheard the conversation & came over to help, even mentioned exactly what I just said. She was then able to properly process the transaction for me.
-A company that caters to new parents 1 would think a certain level of friendliness & compassion would be a requirement. How could a company specializing in all things baby can be so unfriendly & unhelpful.
