What a terrible experience! I brought my husband in with severe pain. In the ER We were taken in and put in a room with garbage and 2 bugs on the floor. The place was filthy.
After a very long wait he was seen by a nice Dr. who said said he would get him pain meds and admit him. Two hours later still no pain medication. . When I asked the nurse (caitlyn I think) about it , she bit my head off and told me she would check for orders. My husband finally got the meds 2 1/2 hours after arrival.
We waited 8 hours for a bed! Yes, you read that right.
My husband waited all day to have his tests done and we had to keep reminding the nurse that he was supposed to get meds every 3 hours.
Again a huge production, and she had little compassion for him.
I asked if he could get some lunch. His lunch was breaded chicken, fries, coke, sweet tea, ice cream, and a a cookie. I could understand the bad food but All that sugar was ridiculous.
At shift change a new nurse (also named Kaitlyn)took over. Everything went much smoother at that point. She was attentive and friendly and got his meds on schedule.
Police and security were outside patient rooms. I felt very unsafe.
After being at the hospital for 19 hours, I decided to go home to get some rest. I went downstairs at 10:00pm. I asked for security to escort me to my car. When trying to describe where I parked my car. The security guard was impatient and rude. I ended up walking myself o my car.
