| - After two visits to B Shop, I feel compelled to write a review of my combined experiences. My first visit there was a bit weird from the get-go. I arrived just on time and when I walked in, I stood by the front counter where a man was talking to a friend of his. He glanced at me a few times, but proceeded to continue his conversation, while i stood there waiting for a good 5-10 minutes. After he finally broke his conversation to ask if I had an appointment, he checked me in and I sat down. I then waited 20 minutes past my scheduled appointment to get started, which was a bit annoying, but I understand those types of things happen.
I have no complaints about my barber or the cut I received as I was very happy with them both. However, after my cut, I again had to wait another 5 minutes for the man at the counter as he was still chatting with his friend. Again, very annoying given that I was the paying customer.
Despite the rude service at the desk, I decided to go back because I loved the cut I received. This brings me to last night. I walked in the door and waited as two people walked by before someone finally asked if I had an appointment. I said yes and found out that my stylist had been trying to get in touch with me, as she was running late and had to move my 8pm appointment back to 8:30pm. I would have changed it, but given that I had put off dinner until after my hair appointment, I couldn't bring myself to sit around for a half hour just to put off dinner any longer.
However, the thing that really annoyed me about the whole situation is the reason why my stylist was unable to reach me. it turns out that when that man at the desk from the first appointment put in my information, he put my area code as 320 which is an area code for Minnesota. I just can't understand why no one thought it might actually be 330, which is an area code associated with much of northeast Ohio. It just strikes me as weird--or lazy--that no one caught it. I mean 330 and 216 are the area codes here, come on.
Needless to say, I will not be returning. And not because I didn't like my hair--because I did. I just can't stand when I leave a place feeling like the people running the place couldn't give two shits about me as a customer.
The only reason I'm giving b shop three stars is because of the nice stylist and cut I had during my first visit.
