| - Woww I simply just mean wowww, we arrived at Vegas for the very first time at 5AM, tired and just looking for a room to crash a few hours before heading out...No one prepared us for the craziness that it is to drive in Vegas, after one hour of reading signs, various, circles around the giant blocks, we found a place to park.
There are no clear signs of where to park or where the main entrance was and when we found the valet parking there was no one there to guide you or at least acknowledge your presence to this hotel, and not a single staff member outside to ask anything.
We were lucky my friend was there already and she kinda guided me of where to park.
After walking what seemed like an eternity in 30 something degree weather with a one year old and our luggage we we're guided to the registration desk at the other side of the hotel!
Upon arrival we we're told we couldn't get a room because check in is not until 3PM and they either way they were sold out! However for a nominal fee of 28$ plus the room at 150$ we could get a room at 10:30am; Whattt???!!! And
Since my friend was already there she offered us to crash with her and after the staff checking with them (good security point thety called the room first) they gave us a key to the room.
With high expectations since it's you know VEGAS and our first time there tired but very excited up to the room we went.
On our way we decided to just drop of our stuff (since it was now 6am and my friend's family would still proably be sleeping) go eat and shop to let my friend and her family get up and about and until 10:30 so we could get a room.
After all that we came back and we're informed there we're still no rooms available so up to the room we went to plan out the day.
When finally seeing the room in daylight I have to say I WAS TRULY DISSAPPOINTED, the room was a non smoking floor and someone obviously ignored that, the room smelled of old and dirty carpet, the furniture is completely outdated, and so is the bathroom, the screw to the lamp my was so fragile my one year old manged to unscrew it.
*Sigh, I've worked in the hotel industry so I know what to look for in cleanliness, it was decently clean, the toilet is not often scrubbed since you can tell where the dingeness starts, the towels were decent, the bed was soft, the ac vent and the air vent in the bathroom we're clean, the shower was well scrubbed (We checked before anyone showered).
Tho the furniture is supposed to be mediaeval it was more dingy meets mediaeval, the tv had well no entertainment just your basic antenna channels is what it feels like, not great TV quality...I guess I expected more since it's supposed to be a Vegas hotel, after deciding this room was not worth the 100-and something we decided not to rent one there.
However the staff itself was always friendly and courteous.
