| - I checked into Townplace Suites on May 2nd, 2017 and checked out May 5th. I noted on looking at the room, that this is an older property, the furnishings worn, overall in need of updating. That, in itself, was no problem. Everything seemed fine. Breakfast is very good, by the way.
After my first night was when I experienced a malfunctioning thermostat in the wall unit. No way to control the heat pouring into the room, as it ran constantly rather than the usual "on-off" of a well-functioning unit. The maintenance man came to my room, left saying he would be back in "5 minutes". Never returned. No one called me. I had to make inquiry at the desk. They didn't want to address the issue. Grudgingly, they told me he had gone and that they couldn't do anything. I don't mind that. What is, IS.
What I DID mind was the hair-brained run-around by the maintenance employee. Just be honest, guy. Don't hide and hope it'll go away.
This morning, there was no hot water for my shower. I called the desk. Too many people using the hot water, they said apologetically. I was told to wait 20 minutes. Seriously? When I'm trying to get on the road? Bottom line: this doesn't happen at Motel 6; it shouldn't happen at a much more upscale, large-capacity property.
Overall, I give mostly good ratings to the front desk and cleaning staff--all tried to be helpful and courteous, even under dubious circumstances. After all, they had to cover for a maintenance guy who lacked any sort of courtesy. But even good people cannot overcome the limitations of a rundown physical plant.
Get it in gear, TownPlaceSuites.
