| - I went here because my usual barbershop was closed, and I needed a quick haircut before I left on a trip the next day. My hair is very short and simple to cut (just clippers needed) and consequently it is very hard to screw it up. I can go just about anywhere with no worries. Heck, if I got around to buying clippers I could do it myself in the bathroom mirror and achieve the same results.
To start with, the salon looks like it was decorated in the very early 90's, and although it was a hot day, there was very little air conditioning. A couple with a small child was leaving as I got there, and the father was pointing out to the mother that the child had a huge chunk missing from his hair at the nape of his neck. They weren't a confrontational couple, she just shushed him and tried to muss up the kid's hair to cover the missing chunk. I still wasn't worried, maybe the kid fidgeted in the chair, and accidents happen that way.
Then it was my turn. The hair stylist (is there such thing as a mis-stylist?) used clippers to draw an awkward wavy line around my head and trimmed below the line #1 as instructed. Then, she took scissors and made a few desultory snips above the line. And that was it. It's truly awful. The bottom part looks fine, then there's a badly blended line, then nothing was taken off the top. Two days after leaving the store I need another haircut (well, the top half of a haircut, anyway).
To add insult to injury, the price was $20. I have routinely gotten $10 haircuts in 5 minute's time with no issues and this place managed to make a mess at double that price. Yikes!
