  • I'm going to have to agree with Anna on this one. Sure, preloved is doing a great thing with old clothes by making them pretty and charging a small fortune for them. But, really, how much patchwork can a person take? Some of their high-end items like coats and blazers that they just re-fit to sell are pretty, and their latest stuff from Fashion Week was pretty decent. But the majority of the stuff they carry in the store looks like what I used to make in high school, except all my weird off-the-shoulder sweaters were done with old band t-shirts and actual band logo patches. And I'm no seamstress, but I have basic sewing skills and usually if I buy vintage clothes that don't fit properly, I just fit them myself. So I feel like I could make half the crap here that they charge a fortune for. Yeah, yeah, yeah, they're so unique and innovative, it's so great that they're putting Toronto on the map in the fashion world, blah blah blah. Personally, I'd rather shop elsewhere and not look like I went to Value Village and sewed a bunch of grandma sweaters together.
