| - I try and support the local businesses in the Distillery as I work in the area. Cafe Uno just had there third strike with me!
Not only is the food bland and not fresh, the service is terrible. I had ordered the stuffed bagel breakfast special and for the third time, they screwed up my order completely. When i returned to complain ( I was pretty uspest as it has happened alost every time I order there), the young woman working there basically laughed at me and started arguing with me. Her comment was that every body makes mistakes and has a bad day.
My problem is that they screwed up my order and then behaved rudely towards me. There was a man that stepped in and also got extremely rude. They tried to offer to make another bagel (rudely) and I asked for a refund. The guy then says he is having a bad day, his father is in the hospital. He then through $15 in cash at me.
Coming from many years in the service industry, this is the worst service I have encountered. The food is bland at best, over priced, the service is very slow and the employees are very rude. Never again will Cafe Uno get any business from me. I am appaled at how they treat a customer after they continuously screw up the order. They obviously have no respect for their customer base as they did not even apologize!
If you are in the area, try Brick Street Bakery, The Distillery Market or Mill St. Brew Pub. The food is fresher, a better value, and at least the staff is friendly.
Stay away, stay away, stay away!
Ps. for a cafe, the coffee terrible... I mean really awful. It tastes like it was made days ago. AWFUL
