| - The first thing you might notice when you walk up to China Magic Noodle House (assuming you survived the horrible crush that is the Lee Lee's parking lot) is the cute caricature of man holding noodles painted on the window. Then you walk in and... HE DOES EXIST! There really is a man in the window that is hand stretching fresh egg noodles. This is real life people. My personal favorites are the cut noodles - they're a little thicker than the regular, and always have a bit of a chew to them that I love. If that's not your jam, they also come in regular, thick, narrow flat and wide flat. We always order the beef stir fry with spicy XO sauce. The dish itself isn't spicy in a mouth-burning way, but just plain savory and delicious. The sauce is a little on the salty/oily side, but I think the veggies and the thicker noodles help to balance it out. They do not skimp on the meat, either. The beef is the same as every other Chinese restaurant - exactly what kind of magic do they perform to get it that tender? On second though, I'm not sure that I want to know, but I'll definitely keep enjoying it.
Though the noodles are fantastic, the real star of this place are the dumplings! China Magic Dumpling House doesn't quite have the same ring to it, but I'd still be a loyal follower. Like the noodles, the outside of the dumpling (I don't know the technical term - wrapper? skin? dough?) is always perfectly cooked and has a nice bite to it. The pork mixture inside is SO delicious, definitely juicy and flavorful. My sister and I shared an order of 8 between the two of us and couldn't finish - these things are massive! Oh, and don't forget to load up on the chili oil on the table. Put that on EVERYTHING. I'm pretty sure it's the magic ingredient in the spicy XO stir fry, because that stuff is addictive. Somehow I always seem to lose all self control and willpower when I walk in here. But China Magic Noodle always satisfies by inner glutton, and I always walk/roll/waddle out of here a happy little dumpling myself.
