| - I am writing this review in regards to an earlier review for Golden Dragon Tattoo. Although its been years since I have been there, I still think I should share my experience.
In 2004, I initially went to the shop, with my aunt, to get my eyebrow pierced. At that time, we were greeted by Jeremy and I believe who was or is the owner (an older gentlemen). I was informed because I was 16, that I need to have a picture ID, a parent, and birth certificate to identify my correct parent. Which wasn't a problem I went home and the next day I went back with a picture Id, My Mom (and her ID) and my birth certificate. At that time, an artist name Kaedy did the piercing. I was happy, no problems at all. It was then that I saw Kaedy's septum piercing and fell in love with it.
For a whole year I kept telling my mother that I wanted to get my septum pierced. Of course her reaction was oh that's gross. One day, I went into the shop to talk to them about the septum piercing. Kaedy and Jeremy were there and they answered all my questions and then some. They were very down to earth and comfortable to talk to. In fact, from that point on Kaedy, kind of took me under her wing and was like a big sister.
Needles to say, I went back (this was 2005) and got my septum pierced. I went through the routine before, so I was prepared this time. Jeremy did the piercing, I was scared as hell, and my mom wouldn't watch, but everything turned out awesome. Surprisingly, the pain wasn't really that bad, a little burn, one eye teared up and that was it (I'm sure a lot of it had to do with Jeremy being experienced). It was quick and fast.
I even went back to the shop, a couple of days later, because Clark County Schools banned piercings, a year before, and I had a captivity ring and didn't know how to take it out to put a horseshoe ring in and Kaedy came to my rescue. I was young and new to all of it and she explained how and what to do.
Even after that I still went to the shop and talked to them (I was moving on to wanting a tattoo). It wasn't until I moved out of state that I stopped going there.
All my times going there I had a great experience. Never were they rude or unprofessional. I would say they even went above and beyond their roles. They really do care about making sure minors understand what they are getting into and what decisions they are making, in regards to educating them on this topic and informing them of facts (do realize that adolescents often become misinformed by their peers and can make impulsive decisions - their frontal lobes of their brains are still developing).
Now, yes, outside of the shop (the location) isn't really something to talk about - but what do you expect its Henderson and Boulder Highway.
I have never seen the shop dirty - its always been clean when I was there, they always wore gloves and seemed to keep up with sanitization. Now maybe the shop doesn't have the crisp modern look to it as tattoo shops in the casinos do - but that's because it has history.
People just need to do their research and understand that they are running a business. Find out what their policy is about age and either abide by it and come equipped or go else where. Same thing with their pricing - do your research - you don't like the prices go else where.
I don't know if the same people are there but back in the day, Kaedy and Jeremy, were fabulous and never once did I have a problem.
