I moved to the Chandler/East Valley area in late March. Since then, I've been doing a lot of eating in restaurants...and I will only mention this one...it WOWed me!! The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is that I felt it was a bit expensive (i.e $16 for a vegetarian pasta dish).
However, this place only had one other large table of people-all speaking Italian and having a great time. I had a penne pasta with roasted tomato sauce, eggplant (which I normally hate), mozzarella and parmesan cheese. The bread is worth eating a bit of-as it is warm, authentic italian style bread. I couldn't stop eating the pasta-the portions are on the big side-which helped me accept the higher prices. I ate half and it was great the next day as well. Wonderful wine selections...great service. This place is a true representation of good italian food-I would recommend it to ANYONE-especially those who agree that Olive Garden does NOT qualify as authentic italian food.
