I originally started coming here after my veteranerian of many years retired. For regular appointments, the cost and the wait time were about on par with the area.
My gripe stems from my bringing our 12 year old lab mix in for care due to a return of her rectal cancer. They wanted to charge me over $2100 to "stage the cancer, do ultra-sounds, xrays, labs, aspirate her lymph nodes, " and then finally to do the surgery. I was appauled. Her original surgery - which had gaven us 6 happy years with her- only cost about $200. I asked for a break down of prices and if we could just remove the lump? They were antagonistic about it but promised a break down to be sent to us in the mail in 3-4 days time. It never came and a return to my retired vets office was a price quote for about $250 to remove the lump---antibiotics, anesthesia, and labs included.
We will not be going back. I am sure they were unhappy because we did not want to spend the Big Bucks for their multiple services, but I still have children to raise and feed, too!
