| - While recently on blogto.com, my tongue was hanging out after looking up the best bakeries in Toronto. Most of them i have visited, but their number one bakery, aka Bakerbots was unfamiliar. It has an amazing location, just steps from the Ossington subway stop. The interior is small, but there are a few seats. All of the sweets are displayed beautifully on decorative plates and cake stands. The counter staff play such an integreal role in any successful business. Upon walking in we weren't greeted, and it was as if we were inconveniencing her to serve us.
At bakerbots their ice cream sandwiches are legendary, however it was far too frosty outside to enjoy one. Instead we ordered the next best thing, two cookies to go. The first was their cocoa cookie, it had amazing flavour, however it was far too dry and crumbled apart in the bag. I did like the sprinkling of salt on top, it really brought out the deep chocolate flavour. The second cookie was their everything cookie, with chocolate chips, pretzels, and possibly oatmeal, sorry i cant remember. It was alright, it had a good chew to it but nothing special. Both of the cookies were quite thin, i like a thicker chewier cookie. On their website they have an array of beautiful macarons, and i was quite disappointed to come to the bakery and there were none present.
Overall, there were no shortages of amazing things to sample, i think on my next visit i will definitely try one of their butterscotch tarts, or wait for the summer to come back for an ice cream sandwich.
