  • MGM Grand Hotel is a sure shot on The Strip. Truth be told, I am not a huge proponent of Las Vegas. A weekend every 2-3 years is plenty for me. That said, MGM Grand is always the first place I look to when booking a room in Sin City and has been for years. The amenities are on par with just about any other Resort/Casino on the Strip and MGM is one of the few Hoteliers that offers everything in one location from Michelin rated restaurants to nightclubs to shows and even has Nathan's Hot Dogs in its bowels. You really do not have to leave the MGM in order to have the full Vegas experience and I suppose that is what keeps me coming back. I stayed most recently over a weekend to attend a bachelor party and yes - it did get well out of control - but I had a fantastic time. This was the first time I was able to stay in the Skylofts and I think it has ruined me when it comes to staying in the regular suites. Skyline views, walk in closets/bathrooms, a pool table, they even have a dedicated Butler for each Skyloft to assist you in any way imaginable (it helps to tip them $300.00 off the bat - you will want for nothing). The service is truly impeccable and we were partying like Guns & Roses circa 1987. This is the only way to do Vegas, but it certainly doesn't come cheap. Age has taken a toll on the facade of the MGM Grand, during daylight hours the exterior reminds one that this Resort was opened in 1993, it badly needs a fresh coat of paint and the windows are in need of washing. Once the night comes, however, the MGM Grand looks like it was opened last week. Outside of that, there is very little to not like about the MGM Grand and it will remain a stand by for my Vegas debauchery along with Wynn and Encore. I definitely recommend staying here if your travels take you to Vegas.
