| - We ate lunch at Leroy Fox and I went in with high hopes and recommendations dancing in my head. It was a slow day (granted it was a Monday), but there were some other patrons in the dining room. Service was great - not over attentive, but there with a refill whenever needed.
I love love love the feel of the restaurant and the decor was perfect. The food was average. We had an order of the fried zucchini and it came out thick and hot, with a plentiful three sauces. The house specialty Boom Boom sauce was spicy and tangy and delicious. The second was the staple, Ranch, always a favorite and the third was a spicy remoulade that kicked your mouth into high gear.
I was so excited about the Boom Boom sauce, I ordered the Sweet Carolina Dip with a side of mac and cheese. The mac & cheese was beautiful, but lacked in flavor. Maybe if there was some Boom Boom sauce on it . . . The sandwich was good, large and fun to dip, except my chicken pieces kept falling into the chicken au jus and I didn't really taste any Boom Boom sauce. A friend got the Shrimp Cobb Wrap. I was told the shrimp were bland, but I didn't have the option to taste.
I'd love to go back for cocktails and to enjoy the atmosphere. They have great nightly specials. I'd also like to try their brunch! (Sat & Sun, but probably moving to only Sun).
