The Beer Makes History Better tour was a great way to get an overview of Toronto's history and best local brews. Mike did a great job; he was knowledgable, funny and gave great recommendations. Whether you know only a little or a lot about beer you can enjoy this tour. There's also a stop at St Lawrence Market where you learn a bit about local food as well. The tour finishes in The Distillery District.
As far as alcohol intake: there were three stops, one was small samples and the other two allowed to order small glasses / flights or full pints. I'm glad we did this tour early in our trip because we have a good-sized list of fun places to go.
We also did the Kensington Market and Chinatown tour. That tour had some food samples and more cultural history. If you only had time to do one, and it's your first time in Toronto, I'd say go with the Beer Makes History... tour. If you have time for a second tour, or if you're familiar with Toronto and its history, go for Chinatown / Kensington.
