| - A couple Saturdays afternoons ago, I took a short drive to the other side of the 17 and realized I didn't want to go home quite yet. Oh hey, Silver Cinemas, I've been meaning to see you. Perfect!
The parking lot is a hot mess and the whole building is old, but you're paying all of $3 to get out of the heat and see a relatively new movie in a theater. I don't suggest getting there early because I picked a movie about 30 minutes out from showtime and they were still cleaning the popcorn off the floor from the last showing. Instead, I spent an extra $0.75 playing three games of Ms. Pac Man. I must say, the game selection is pretty healthy. In fact, maybe I should suggest you do get to the movie early, just so you can play some games with your lady in the lobby. Perhaps you can work up a sweat dancing on DDR before you buy her a soda and take her clammy hand into Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. Actually, that sounds like a pretty fun date.
Remember that time I said it's only $3? Keep that in mind as you sit in the older style theater seats and when you don't hear your movie in Dolby Digital Surround Sound. Honestly, the only thing I had a real problem with was the bathroom. Old, old, OLD toilets, broken, and dirty walls and stalls. Almost creepy.
