  • I'll give the pros and the con's because it's very easy to simply post complaints when we're dissatisfied. I relocated here from out of state, so I never seen the apartment until the night I moved in (that's another story)... Overall the apartment was 'OK'. I'm in what they call an upgraded unit, but don't waste the extra money for the brown paint and finished counter-tops. After its all said and done with the ridiculous utilities costs I'm paying $1200 just in rent and I could rent a house for that much. Maintenance here is a nightmare. I've had over 15 orders in just under 8 weeks.... It's takes them 2-3 times to get it right. I attribute that to the fact they don't have enough people employed on their maintenance staff and they have over 400 apartment albeit that's no excuse. The apartments are old. The tubs are old. Compared to Camden communities these apartments are way over priced. I think if they put some effort into improving the building overall (not just the roof's) but repair and update the buildings it would raise the value for these apartments. Also, the upper units are very difficult to cool. My first light bill was $363 I almost died. The ac units are old and don't push out the air with any force. The living room never gets cool. I had to put my electric bill on level pay plan to afford it. I thought I would be saving money compared to LA but coming from a total of $50 monthly in utilities to over $400 plus rent I'm breaking even. **Update I am ending my lease. This has been the most terrible experience ever. Pro's. The staff has been really great to work with. I haven't experienced any rudeness. I think they are limited to what the company gives them to work with. Don't shoot the messenger. Be kind and they will try and work with u. The ground are kept beautifully and it's always quiet considering it's summertime. I love the area and I've never seen anyone hanging out but I live in the front... Overall, I won't renew my lease and will look for a house since I'm paying house prices now. I think montego bay has the potential to be 5 stars with some minor adjustments.
