| - Okay so I don't currently live at Bloom anymore, but I lived there for a year and a half before ending my lease due to relocation. My lease ended at the end of May 2016 so still pretty recent. I had to come back and leave a review because after apartment searching in the Arizona area again to move back, I'm like "Bloom 24 was definitely a good place to live and they deserve to have a review from me." Every place has it's pros and cons, but Bloom's environment was pretty decent compared to other places.
For starters, when I lived there it was pretty quiet- almost too quiet. Also, the walls were so thick, we never heard the neighbors next door. Our neighbors could blast music and we wouldn't even know until we actually went outside and passed by their window. Also, maintenance did a really good job of keeping the place clean. You always found them working on the pool, cutting grass, washing the walkways, etc. Maintenance staff were also really friendly and there was never a time that they didn't greet me when seeing me. Management was also super nice. Honestly there were some kinks with the first apartment we had (we lived in both the flat and the loft), but Nicole and maintenance were so amazing at helping us. Nicole was honest since day one and super genuine, which is hard to come by with management in these types of apartment complexes. Moreover, all of the utilities were included, which made paying bills a breeze. The AC system was also really good. Even though Bloom was in control of when the heater and AC were turned on and shut off, we were never too cold or too hot. Moreover, the pool area was so great. The pool goes pretty deep compared to other apartment complexes. The updates to the apartments and community were pretty cool.
Some cons are not really specific to the complex itself, but the people. Whenever you decide to live in an apartment complex expect to live with some people who are not as clean as you or just flat out don't have manners. Sometimes people would leave their dog's poop on the ground- gross. Also, the first apartment we moved into in 2015 had some roaches. They were there from the first day we moved in, but it didn't seem like other apartments in the complex did. We honestly believe it was the people who lived there before us or it was empty for a while and they came in from the sewer system, but Nicole made sure to help and had an exterminator come in to get rid of them, which they did. We decided to move apartments after several months to a loft for more space and there were no roaches at all there. At one point, I had a neighbor whose dog would not stop barking from the window. It was so disturbing, but again, it's the people- not the complex. People would also leave their clothes in the dryers for hours and not come to pick them up in time which would delay laundry day, but once more-that's people. There was an issue with the bathtub peeling due to the company that was hired to redo the bathtubs using bad quality, but when I was there they were in the midst of changing companies. These issues were issues that Nicole literally would work on and try to reduce as soon as they were happening to ensure everyone was happy. Notices were put out so people would be more mindful. Parking was becoming limited due to the increase of people moving into these apartments, but I think they were working on making more spots out back.
The location of the complex is central to everything, it's easy to get to Tempe, Scottsdale, Biltmore area, etc which is good but the immediate location is kind of blah, but at least it's quiet.
I gave it a 4 out of 5 stars mostly because personally the immediate location was not my favorite and the parking at the time wasn't that great. Also, it would be cool in the future if residents were able to have select units with washers and dryers since communal laundry facilities aren't always fun. All in all, there were some kinks but because management actually cared, all issues were quickly resolved. It's honestly a good place to live.
