  • This used to be my favorite place to shop, visit, look around...etc., until Sunday afternoon. My boyfriend and I decided to stop in on our walk home, just to check it out (they had an awesome 'Flea Market Sale' going on). We only found one thing we were interested in - a large bamboo cutting board - and we were SOLD. It was marked down to about $2. We went to check out, only to realize - we had no cash on us. We asked the sales clerk at the desk (I believe his name was Will, though I was so infuriated upon my departure I didn't stop to ask his name), if it would be okay to charge it, because we didn't have cash...we even asked if there was a card limit on purchase (because I am also in the sales industry, I really understand that small businesses can get hurt with credit card fees) and he said no, and that it wouldn't be a problem. Of course, we proceeded to the checkout. After ringing us up, Will, looked us square in the eye and demanded "You don't have two bucks?" - again, we said no and told him this is why we were questioning about their card system. He then proceeded to lecture us on how small business hurt by putting such small purchases on credit cards (which again, we had JUST discussed with him, telling him we completely understood, but were told it was OKAY). We explained we had just stopped in to check it out, but couldn't pass on the deal...he rolled his eyes and proceeded to ring us out...only to come back over AGAIN and notate on how small of an amount he was ringing us up for. Upon the completion of our transaction, Will quite literally dropped the cutting board into my boyfriends hands, and I quote, stated "Here is your $2 cutting board...bring cash next time." This was the most rude interaction I had ever had with anyone in the sales industry. Instead of simply stating the truth - he gave us the worst attitude. Unfortunately, my favorite store in Rocky River has now lost my business...and I will no longer bring friends and family from out of town to visit it either. Best of luck in the future -- hopefully something is done about this Sales Rep.
