The Dhaba is by far the best Indian restaurant in Phoenix. I love Indian food and I've eaten at a dozen or more restaurants in the Valley... let me tell you, once I tried the Dhaba, I've never gone anywhere else! There's no other restaurant in Phoenix that beats the quality of the food here! Everything on the menu is a masterpiece and I've never walked away hungry or unsatisfied.
You start your meal with a complementary appetizer of papadums (large flat circular chips), served with an assortment of chutneys. My favorite dishes: Lahori Malai Kofta (vegetarian meatballs), Paneer Tikka Masala (cheese cubes in a tomato sauce), and Vegetable Korma (veggies in a creamy, nutty sauce). The best lamb dish I've tried is Kadahi Gosht, lamb in a spicy sauce with sauteed veggies. Your meal comes with a huge serving of rice and don't forget to order garlic naan!
The Dhaba is a small, intimate restaurant. Great for double dates or going out with your family if they're adventurous enough to try curry! I highly recommend making a reservation online. I've never had problems making same-day reservations, but I have been forced to wait 20 minutes as a walk in. (The wait is worth it!) The restaurant is in a small plaza with limited parking, but there's extra parking in the back. Be sure to check out the small Indian grocery and marketplace next door!
Many thanks to the owner Naveen for running such a wonderful establishment! Can't wait to be back for another feast soon!
