  • Monty's is one of my favorite go-to restaurants, and not just because it's right in my neighborhood. They're great for brunch, lunch, dinner, dessert, breakfast for dinner, and those times you just NEED a malt. I almost always sit at the counter, which is first-come-first-served, but even on the weekends, they get a crowd seated pretty fast. Service is usually great, and I think I've only had one not-good server in many, many visits. I also think the prices are really good for the quality and portions. A few favorites: -either weekend special: I love the biscuits and red pepper, sausage gravy, and my husband almost always gets the steak with onion strings and compound butter. -the meatloaf is super tasty, as are the potatoes and gravy on the side. -the Florentine is my usual, especially if I don't want something too heavy -the Sheldon, a veggie Ruben is delicious, even if you eat meat -I am obsessed with their waffle fries--well worth the upgrade--though their regular fries are also great. -their coffee is really good
