  • I tried to go here after the DNC convention in Charlotte on Friday, and they ran out of chicken! Not to be put off, I was back Saturday afternoon for lunch--heavenly day, they had chicken. So I got their 1/4 white box with tater rounds, cole slaw, sweet tea, and hush puppies. I'm not a huge fried chicken connoisseur, i just like what I like. Overall, i found the chicken good, well fried, but very very salty. And the tea was SUPER sweet. Like, get a cavity immediately sweet. The hush puppies and tater rounds were fantastic--hot and crispy. The cole slaw was ok, again, a little sweet. I bought a small side of potato salad, and that was pretty good. Overall, the whole meal was good, just the chicken was too salty. Cash only! But super fast, they aren't messing around. Know what you want before you get to the counter! This is total sacrilege, but I've become quite attached to the fried chicken at Cracker Barrel on Sundays (so much so that my family and I say, when traveling, "Chicken Sunday!" in hopes of stopping there on our way somewhere.) And I think their fried chicken is some of the best--hot, fast, juicy and delicious and not greasy at all. This didn't quite measure up to that.
