If staying off strip isn't an issue, I can enthusiastically recommend the Palms Place. I expected nice accommodations, but I didn't expect the beautiful room with the perfect strip view that we received.
The suite had a nicely stocked mini kitchen with a small refrigerator under the mini stocked bar. Should you prefer to make meals in your room, you have all the necessary tools, including a two burner stovetop. The king bed was comfortable, and both the sitting area and the bedroom area each had its own flat screen.
The bathroom was spacious and the shower had a rain shower head in addition to the handheld spout. A large jetted tub, plenty large enough for two was located inside the shower.
The modern décor extends to the hallway, including the walls and carpeting. I also want to comment on the soundproofing of the rooms. One of my biggest pet peeves when traveling is paper thin walls. That wasn't the case here. I called my friends who were staying in the room next door, and I didn't even hear the phone ringing. Pretty impressive!
The only negative was the distance from the Palms. It was cool when we were going to Simon for dinner, but was a pain in the ass when we left to go to the Playboy Club - and it's a looooong stumble back at 3 a.m.
Also, room service is pricey. Run through the sky tube to the food court instead. And they have Coffee Bean too!
