| - I request a plumber thru my American Home Shield (Home warranty) for a leak under my tub. Prior owner installed a jetted tub but it is still covered. There is a leak from the tub drain sealant and from the spout. When he got there I had Directv there as well. Directv was just finishing up but had me on the phone for last minute survey. So I took the plumber into the bathroom/master bedroom (access panel is in the bedroom for the plumbing of the shower). Showed him where the leak was coming from and ask him to check it out and that I would be back in one second. (back in after showing out Directv guy) I went back to him and apologized, and I asked him what he thought. He said that he couldn't see the problem, so I had to fill the tub with water and show him. (which I thought a plumber would do on his own but Hey whatever!!) Then after draining it (of course) it started dripping. I showed him the other leak (from the spout) and he said that there wasn't a leak there but I showed him that it was "wet" and that yes indeed there was a drip. Anyway.....He stated that the leak that was coming from the drain was not covered because it was out of CODE......I asked why? and he said that this was a remodel and that they did it wrong. That they would have to break into the foundation and make a new drain. Now I was in shock!! Shock that was even possibly the problem. He also said the type of piping was wrong as well. ( well after a little research I found out that he was wrong, because ALL the house in my neighborhood with this same exact floor plan, had the shower on the same side of the wall and they would of had to had the drain with a pipe to the main drain into the foundation to the mid-side of the ground.) Number two!!!! White ear plug in one ear for his personal phone calls!!!! Just rude and unprofessional. I don't need to hear about he and another person argue about WHATEVER when I am standing there with major questions on How I can get help with my plumbing!! I asked him why in the world did I pay 75.00 for him to come out and tell me nothing to help. I asked him to call my home warranty company now. He said no because they take too long. I told him well I paid 75 and I would like to know now if it is covered or not. He said well I'll call but I'm only holding for 5 minutes. I was WAY upset now.....I said So I had you come out to tell me that I could not get help, it would cost 2800 to replace the tub and walls (just to avoid breaking the foundation for a new drain hole, which would cost much much more!!) and you cannot stay on hold for a little while so I can try to figure this out, Plus if it is covered then I will have to pay another 75 for another visit to have you come back out and do the work. He said you wouldn't have to pay again IF youre covered but I'm telling you, this will not be covered. Well he did call and stayed on the phone for 2, yes 2!!! minutes!!! What a waste! So he said I will call tomorrow and let you know what they say. Two days later and I didn't hear from him, but did receive an email stating that the "work request was completed". So I contacted my home warranty company and told them that I didn't agree with this guy and that I wanted a 2nd opinion. They agreed. But now with another company that has horrible reviews as well. In my experience, Jorge is not qualified to in this field at all. And in any way, shape or form, as a professional!!! Show alittle integrity!!!
