  • First, the fabulous location and whimsical design inside/out makes for a statement on a strip known more for the flashy neon and overdone effects. Think of a hybrid baby if a French carnival with tents got married to the designers that produced Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Willy Wonka. Once inside, pay attention to the menu, which offers a varied selection ranging from typical American fare but on an enormous scale: sundae's feature full slices of cake on top (ordered the Carrot Cake Sundae and the Red Velvet Sundae on two occasions), French Toast that runs the length of a platter, and Onion rings (full order of pretty much the best Onion rings I've ever had that were crunchy on the outside and sprinkled with parmesan) that can easily top 14 inches. If not for the visual oomph, the food is quite good here and the several times I have had the opportunity to visit have been great. I do recommend making reservations when busy times are being targeted (brunch, lunch, dinner) otherwise you are looking at an hour wait. Service has always been prompt and our waters topped off without having to ask. Last but not least, remember to order their infamous Frozen hot chocolate. If you have never sampled it, do it. It is one of the main reasons as to why they are known for it :) and I don't share a sweet tooth like my other friends either!
