| - 2.5 stars
I've never had such difficulty staying in a hotel as I did with the Venetian. This place was supposed to be a very good hotel but it turned out to have too many flaws for me to give it more than 2.5 stars.
We stayed 1/1 - 1/4. Upon parking, we lugged some of our luggage to the front desk, which was a little confusing to find from the elevators since there was not an obvious sign to say where to go. Once we were pointed in the right direction, it didn't take too long to find everything.
The line to check in was about 20 minutes deep and it was about 8 - 9pm. Our concierge who helped us was cheerful but did not give us good instructions and didn't even give me my comped suite coupons for free drinks and gambling.
After looking for the suite for nearly 30 minutes, taking lots of wrong turns and looking at a confusing and non-descriptive map, we finally made it to our luxurious room, which was the best part about staying there.
Getting to the room, however, was a HUGE chore. It takes THREE elevator rides to get there before walking down a long hallway. WTF. We stayed in the Venezia Tower just above the parking garage too so that probably was a big reason for part of the confusion. They did NOT design this building very well, dang it.
Having to ask three people where to go when it should have been obvious, which was annoying and quite off putting. Going down to get my free coupons was also stupid and annoying. Why didn't these issues become solved before they were created? Seriously! Katie Farmer, learn to do your job better!
The room was huge, two LCD TVs with HDTV. Comfortable King and Queen Pullout beds were awesome. The shower and bathroom were also great with the toilet being the only part with privacy. Oh well. Oh, and why didn't the freaking air conditioner actually stay the temperature it was supposed to say? We had to readjust it twice to get it cold enough for our comfort! Come on, Venetian.
Overall, the hotel was nice, the stay was pleasant but the experience could have been much better. I was overall unimpressed with half of it but definitely enjoyed most of the room. If you stay here, make sure you stay in the main Venetian Tower or your experience might be totally confusing.
