We joined the club last August 2010 for 5 K for a 3 year membership and found that you can get good prices on Hi end hard to sell stuff like furnature, appliances, dishes however when you but lo end stuff you really don't do any better than Costco or Overstock.com-here's why- They charge you (at a 10-30 % reduced price but mark it up to have it shipped from the manufacturers wherehouse to the Direct Buy stockroom where they reinspect it for damage. They will also charge you to store it if you live nearby and it's there over 5 days. So the savings are more like what you pay retail minus 10 percent. I bought a G.E. Frig and discovered I paid what retail was. On large items you have to pick it up which entails a cost too. Some of the items such as chairs or tables need to be assembled and are imported from China Tiawan etc for much less cost. If you own rental properties you will save on the volume of your purchases to pay for your admission fee ,however ;keep in mind the other costs involved to ship and store plus your own trabsportation to your destination. The guys will do a great sales job on you but when you look at the reality of your savings it is nill! B.T.W. This pertains to the Direct Buy in Glendale-Thx Bust your wallet!
