My mom saw one nurse who, instead of helping her, lectured her about how Medicare would not pay for the supplies her wounds require. If the company was not able to follow the doctor's order to change dressings daily, why not call us and inform us about the financial options instead of sending a combative nurse to fuss at us without offering solutions?
The nurse rushed past me in the driveway and told me the office would contact me to tell me if DesertView "would even accept her case," but nobody called. When I called, I was transferred to the director of nursing who confirmed they would not accept my mom as a patient because the nurse refused to return to see my mom, and she is the only employee available in North Las Vegas.
My mom has been receiving home health wound care for several years now in two other states, and never has she had so much trouble getting supplies or care. It's so incredibly unprofessional for the nurse to be arguing about financial matters with a patient.
