  • UPDATE: Called ahead to let them know I was coming for a refund. They said to take down this review or else they wouldn't give me a refund! Pretty shady! I get there and they start telling me I stole a set of stickers that came with the vinyl -- now, the record came with three posters, one set of stickers, and the record itself, very similar to the new release of DSOTM that you can buy at Target with all that included. The guy said he packaged the record himself and said there were two sets of stickers and two posters, accusing me of stealing one set of stickers and replacing it with a poster??? Who the hell would do that and why would I drive two hours to ultimately steal stickers? Strike 2 and 3 for The Record Room, very very shady business. After being harassed by the employees, they finally did give me my refund. If you're looking for a real record shop, check out Tracks in Wax or Asylum Records. --- I've been collecting records for about 3 years now, and love Pink Floyd. My boyfriend and I tend to go to Tracks in Wax or Revolver Records if we're looking for some hard-to-finds, but we've never been to Record Room. Seeing all the good reviews, we decided to check it out today. We walked in and I immediately saw a Pink Floyd: Live at Pompeii bootleg up on the wall of rare records that they had prominently displayed. My boyfriend and I were so excited and pretty much exclaimed, "Holy shit, Live at Pompeii!" My boyfriend went up to one of the employees and said something close to, "Man, we've been looking for Live at Pompeii forever, this is awesome, we're so excited," to which the man congratulated us and said they were happy to have helped us out on our collection. This is a record we've been searching for, for a long time. We finished our Pink Floyd vinyl discography about a year and a half ago, minus the numerous bootlegs such as this one. We grabbed it off the wall, stoked, and looked through the rest of their collection for various bands. Not sure if bad timing, but we didn't see much of a selection -- pretty much the same stuff you would find at any Zia Records. We browsed for about half an hour before we decided to check out. We paid and left. We got home and instantly took the record out of the sleeve, only to discover that our rare gem was your standard Dark Side of the Moon, NOT Live at Pompeii. Being extremely upset and confused, we called the store back, only to be told that we should've checked the spine of the album to see what we were really buying, and that it was more expensive because it came with the Live at Pompeii cut-out, which was put on the COVER of the jacket. We've both purchased a number of rare records and bootlegs before, and have NEVER had to double-check what we were buying before at Tracks in Wax or Revolver, or even Zia Records for that matter. They said we could return it for a refund. We live two hours away and will have to wait until later this week to drive back. Extremely disappointed in the false advertisement and the lack of an employee correcting us after we had clearly stated TO the employees that we were under the impression that we were purchasing Live at Pompeii, NOT Dark Side of the Moon. I don't think we will return after we get our money back; very poor customer service; the store is pretty much just a smaller Zia Records. Probably good if you're looking for indie/alternative/hipster rock, not so much classic rock.
