| - Walk into the world of "Governor's" and you'll be sure to be both amused and horrified... let's call it "amorrified"... at that which surrounds you.
At first the name might call up imagery of southern gentlemen and ladies of privilege, but as soon as you enter you'll think more of David Morrissey's "governor" from popular television show "The Walking Dead". Yes, that "governor," the post-apocalyptic psychopath who keeps his zombified daughter on a leash and stores severed heads in a giant fish tank a step beyond his closet door. It's a familiar vibe.
The food is edible, in the sense that it tastes, it is chewable, and you digest it (more or less). The menu might catch some people off guard, so allow me soften the blow. These folks are just real casual guys and gals! Their pasta selection is titled "Y U No Want Pasta?" because nothing spells professional forethought like naming part of your menu after an Internet meme. It shows how #hip and #relevant the owners are. Plus, there is an item called "Hot Meat"... hungry? I know I am!
I went with the Fish & Chips. I was comforted as the pieces of fish were both uniform triangles, which is good, because fish in their natural form and shape make me nervous (alive or dead). The tartar* sauce was very yellow, making me think it had probably been fermenting in a bin somewhere. Nice touch.
They also have beer. Overall, would highly recommend as an excellent place to break up with your significant other or test your stomach's resolve!
*I have no proof it was tartar sauce.
