  • If I could give negative reviews, I most definitely would (more reviews on ZipLocal): After having my car stop dead in the middle of the 401, and having a mechanic work on my car for 3 hours the night before, my car would not get me to work the next day. Turns out, all that was needed was new ignition wires, but nothing was open to purchase new parts the previous night. I'm currently staying at Yonge and Eglinton, and one person that I live with works at Sammy's, who does all of the repairs for the other people living in the house. He asked me if he should take it to Sammy's for a quote, I said sure, after being assured I would not be charged for that. I received a call mid morning, saying my total cost would be $625 for ignition wires (2 replaced the night before), plugs (2 replaced the night before), and a coil pack. After much discussion with some colleagues at work, a Subaru dealership, and the garage that fixed my car the previous night, the consensus was that unless I was given a damn good reason for replacing the coil pack, don't do it because they typically don't die. I call Sammy's, speak to Jimmy, and ask why they came up with that diagnosis? Jimmy Screamed at me, asking "what do you mean how did we come up with that?" Naturally, I say "how did you come up with the diagnosis?" He responds by screaming at me "they get old, they wear out, they need to be replaced". I said ok, go ahead and change the ignition wires but I don't want the coil pack, knowing that it had been tested fine the night before. Jimmy continues to scream at me, telling me I will need it, it needs to be replaced, blah blah. about 30 seconds after I got of the phone, I get a call from the guy in my house that works there, telling me I'm stupid and my car will die on the highway again (it did. what was wrong? Air flow sensor. Well done boys...well done...). I guess Jimmy felt maybe if he tattled on me, I would change my mind? Within about 90 mins, I receive the call saying my car is done. When I picked it up, I was greeted with, "Don't be surprised if you have to come back for that coil pack!" (as if I would even want to call these people again, forget letting them touch my car), received a bill for $260 for wires and plugs, and 1 hour labour. I argue the bill, knowing that work will take about 15 mins, and Jimmy himself says "look, this is a computer (gosh, really? I had no idea. Did you know though that computers are run by man?), the computer says 1.4 hours, and I'm charging you for 1 hour. There was barely 1.4 hours from the time I gave authorization to the time my car was done. What was I to do? After a heated argument, I handed over my credit card, saying I won't be back. At this point, he handed back my card, and called the guy I live with again, this time to come and talk to me because I was unhappy. I'm not sure what the purpose of this was. Before I left, I made sure to tell them they need to work on their customer service skills, and again I was yelled at, saying they are so nice to me, giving me a break on labour and this and that and whatever else. I have NEVER been treated with such utter disrespect in my life, and I cannot believe that these people have any customers at all. I wish that I had my car towed elsewhere. I would rather pay $500 to a decent, honest mechanic, than pay these people $1 to do the same work again. I will NEVER return, and, as far as I'm concerned, providing a service is a packaged deal that includes customer service. This place DID NOT provide ANY service to me. There are no words to describe how disgusted I am with the way these people treat valued, paying customers (because I believe every customer is a valued customer). I actually just spoke with Sam himself (he wants me to remove this review) did he yell at me, not at all, but he certainly WAS rude. I want an apology for the I was treated. Every time I tried to speak during the call, all I heard was Michelle, Michelle, Michelle, Michelle, this is MY business (I wouldn't advertise that personally), until I stopped (you don't call MY phone and speak to ME like that). he also told me I am a very angry young woman and I will not get an apology because my review is inaccurate, because he was not there to hear what happened (uhh ok then...makes sense to me...and really? I'm the angry one? ...ok...), he was right beside Jimmy for half of it...
