  • I have been a patient with Dr. Barbara Newman for the past three years and I am disappointed to have to write this review. I recently moved across the valley and travelled to Sunrise Woman's Healthcare for the first time since moving from the East valley to Phoenix. As a result, I had to rely on my google maps to direct me to this location. iPhone users: please be advised there is ANOTHER 4540 E Baseline Rd in Mesa AZ. Unfortunately for me I went to the WRONG location on the opposite end of Baseline. I called the office at my appointment time (3:30p) letting them know I was a bit lost and the receptionist (Veronica) asked me if I had an iPhone. I proceeded to tell her I did and she said "oh this happens all the time". I then asked if she could direct me to the CORRECT location and she proceeded to do so. While on the phone she indicated my appointment was actually 10 minutes earlier, which I found to be alarming. Two weeks prior, I called their office because I hadn't received my reminder call or postcard like I typically do and the woman I spoke with said this happened because I scheduled by appointment a year in advance. She verified my appointment (which had been on my calendar for a year) was in fact at 3:30p. Flash forward to today, I am now 10 minutes (in my mind) late to my appointment and Veronica says she would check with the doctor to see if she would still be able to see me because she had a "booked afternoon". While I was on hold I arrived to Sunrise and proceeded to park and walk into the office. Before I could get out the car she gets back on the phone and says the doctor can't see me because I am late. Now, I have already acknowledged the fact that I got lost, but it is NOT my fault your staff miscommunicated my appointment time to me. Moreso, I shouldn't have to call to CONFIRM my appointment ( I never did get a reminder like I usually do as I mentioned previously). Despite this miscommunication and the fact that I got lost (which apparently happens all the time), Veronica did not apologize for the mixup or try to accommodate my schedule and "fit me in". Instead she said since I was late and the doctor was booked I would have to be seen another day. With that being said, I told her don't worry about it I will make other arrangements! It's not like I've ever been seen at my appointment time anyways! Ultimately, I am very disappointed with how this establishment handled a former, loyal client. Taking my business elsewhere!
