  • I was tipped off to Erica Poppo at Salon 42 from a Facebook friend and I am SO glad I went to see her!! I had a consultation with Erica first; this was the first time any hair dress had done a consultation with me. Erica listened to my hair history, how I style my hair and what products I use, what I like and dislike about my current hair color/style and what I envision for my hair. She suggested a balayage with light and dark blonde, blending my roots with the ends and adding dimension. I returned 3 weeks later (soonest appointment I could get with trying to book around my work schedule) and went right to the chair. Erica and I chatted easily as she worked on the painting in the color for my hair. There was music playing overhead and the atmosphere made me comfortable. There are partitions between each station so you don't feel as though everyone around you is hearing your conversation (and vice versa). The full balayage painting took about an hour and a half and then I sat for 30 minutes while the color processed. I was offered a drink but declined. The color was rinsed out at her chair!! I loved the fact that the sink is disguised at each station. Erica did a fabulous job cutting off my dead ends while letting me keep the length. My hair was then blown dry and styled. I loved the products she used for volume and to set the curls after (no hairspray!). I have never left a hair dresser and been so impressed with how my hair turned out! I have already recommended her to friends in Charlotte and will DEFINITELY be going back!!
