  • We went today and walked out with our new dog. Overall what can you really expect from an animal shelter? We looked around for a bit and when it came time for us to actually want to meet one, it took a while to have someone help us out. However the dog we met ended up being the newest addition to our family. We adopted Girly, told she was 8 years old. She is amazing so far with our two young boys and absolutely loves the attention we are giving her! We spent a lot of time playing with her before we made the decision she was the right fit. When we did make that choice, the actual adoption process was a bit slow but the shelter was a bit busy with others adopting or giving up animals on top of the vet hospital which is attached. It did stink a bit but what can you expect from the poor animals that are caged for a lot of their stay in the shelter? We read a lot of negative reviews before going but none of them came true. Yes it was hard to get someone to help us out when we made a choice which is why the 4 stars but we would honestly adopt our next pet from there when we are ready!
