Where was I? All these reviews - all these great words. We knew about the cost of drinks but.......
Not the same place I visited Saturday night about 11pm. Place was half empty. There was no doorman. The waitress wanted to seat us at the 1st table by the door in the bar. My niece and I wanted a little swankier and saw the other room with lounge chairs and couch. We opted for that and then was handed a menu that was hard to read in the dark and full of fancy name drinks but not big on NOVICE EXPLANATIONS.
Our waitress did not hit on the mark what we liked and brought us 4 drinks that were so awful we could barely choke them down but for $76 for 4 drinks we would bath in them before wasting them. How is a sweet pear vodka any way close to the songbird bitter concoction I was served?
The trio of musicians were nice but no place to sway to the Muzak.
In no way does a couple antiques and costumes make this a speakeasy. What was this back room? I asked the waitress and she said we had to see it but no one ever offered a tour. The couple across from us went to the backroom....the ladies next to us went to the back room......we asked 2ce and then gave up with our waitress.
Maybe after all the hype we expected swankier. maybe for $19.00 a drink we expected tableside mixing of our cocktail. Did not live up to our expectations. Seemed more like a place for women to hang out with hopes of meeting the next celebrity or tycoon who walked in...
