While my below review currently stands, as I did have an extremely disappointing experience at Snoh, I'd like to add that one of the co-owners of Snoh reached out to me and apologized for the service and mix-ups. I really respect business owners who take their customers' reviews seriously, and I look forward to giving Snoh another try in the future and hopefully updating my review.
Original review:
Seriously some of the most disappointing service I've ever received not only in Phoenix, but ever.
My friend and I came in for our milk tea fix around 3pm on Tuesday, September 12th. We weren't sure what to get, as we were feeling for something strong but not really sweet, so we asked for some extra time in deciding. The male server with tattoos up his arms initially welcomed us to ask any questions, and when we inquired which teas could be adjusted for sweetness, he became impatient after the second question. We asked about the Thai tea, which could not be adjusted, the almond Thai tea, which also could not be adjusted, and then finally settled on the green milk tea. Though the server seemed annoyed, at this time I felt like maybe I had asked too many questions and perhaps inconvenienced him, so my friend and I quickly ordered, paid for our drinks, and sat down.
My friend ordered a green milk tea, half sweet, with light ice and grass jelly and pearls. I ordered a green milk tea, 25% sugar, with less grass jelly and light ice. At first, the server put pearls in my drink in addition to grass jelly before asking. When I pointed this out to him, he seemed abashed and quickly switched the cups around. When the first drink came out, which was clearly a milk tea with grass jelly, he pointed to it and told my friend that it was hers when she had ordered pearls and grass jelly. I told her that the drink was probably mine, since I had ordered only grass jelly. I tasted it and it was insanely sweet, so definitely not 50% or 25% sugar as our drinks had been ordered. I let the server know, and his immediate reaction was, "Oh, that's not your drink, it's your friend's." When I told him that she had ordered pearls with her drink, he furrowed his brows and was super short with me, as if it were my fault that he had gotten the order wrong. My friend didn't want to inconvenience the workers further, so she took the drink and didn't say anything else.
When my drink came out, it was a milk tea with grass jelly and pearls, which I hadn't ordered. The server gave it to me and immediately turned his back. I had to wait for him to come back to the counter and let him know that it wasn't the drink I ordered. Then he had the reaction of blaming us because "we kept switching around our orders so he got them all mixed up." We made TWO drink orders, which in my opinion weren't super complicated, especially if you take into consideration the numerous toppings available to customers. If you can't handle the different combinations or customizations, why offer them? The drink he had handed me was probably my friend's, but instead of giving it to her, he took it back and said he'd remake my drink. When my drink came out, it was more than 50% ice when I had asked for less ice, but at least it was no longer deathly sweet. After handing the drink to me, the server once again immediately turned his back to my "thank you" and I had to call across the store to him to ask what the wifi password was. Then he mumbled something, pretended like he didn't hear me when I asked again, and then finally spelled it out with his back turned to me.
In the other part of the store, a photographer was taking some pictures of new products for the store, which included some varieties of shaved ice. The photographer had finished, and said worker grabbed one of the plates and slid it over to us. It was pistachio shaved ice with strawberries, which I assumed was a nice gesture along the lines of extending an olive branch. Then he said, "Oh, I didn't want to throw this away so you guys can have a bite or two if you want." My friend remarked that instead of an olive branch, it was apparently leftovers.
I might also add that I apparently paid for pearls and grass jelly when I just ordered one topping. Not a huge deal at $0.50 plus tax, but the service was seriously dismal.
