| - All those people who collectively gave this hotel an "excellent" rating on Expedia apparently have not had many hotel experiences. The walls are incredibly thin (even in the Club level). If it weren't for the Sheraton sign out front, I'd think I was in a Motel given the TVs, radios, guests singing, curtains opening/closing and conversations I can hear on either side of me. I have a conference call coming up for work and if the guy next to me doesn't turn his radio down, I'm going to have to find another place to work or complain to the front desk. The thing is, I doubt the radio is THAT loud to him -- it's just that the wall are THAT thin. I checked in very late and was looking forward to grabbing a snack from the Club room, but the snack (one) was a NutriGrain bar (and some apples and oranges, which WAS nice to have some fruit). They had plenty of bottles of water I could nab for the room which was a plus. The next morning I went to breakfast promptly at 6am as I was starving. It was there on time and was really very good at the Club level and the bacon some of the best I've ever tasted! Coffee is fresh and the espresso maker is fantastic. Definitely a thumbs up there. Later in the day, however, I tried calling down for room service twice to get lunch and no one answered. I needed a break from working in the room anyway so I went downstairs to the dining room (which has zero ambiance and you're not even sure if you've entered the dining room from the lobby as it all just kind of spills into each other). When the waitress picked up the water spritzer to pour my water, about 2 dozen gnats came up from the well. Pretty gross. The TV was on above the bar, but the sound was off so I sat by myself in silence with the gnats awaiting my pierogi dish (of which I suddenly had zero hope for). Another nice food surprise, however. They were delicious! After lunch I gave the fitness room a look-see thinking I'd come down for a workout later, but it was easily 30 degrees in the room -- either the heat was off or the air conditioner was on. Either way, I couldn't bear the thought of going in there in shorts and a tee on an already 28-degree day...and so I didn't. It's not the business traveler experience I was hoping for given the fact that I knew I'd be stuck in the hotel for almost 2 days solid working. I'll be looking to stay elsewhere next time I'm needing something close to the airport. At $120 a night (with the SPG discount) for an airport hotel with rave review, guess I was expecting way more for it.
