| - Wish I came here earlier after discovering it 2 months ago! Food was delicious, appropriately portioned for the price, and made even better by the wonderful service Sercan provided. I often encounter very pleasant waiters/waitresses anyway, but he had a personable warmth and friendliness during my entire meal that went beyond that.
I came in for lunch at around 1:30, where it empty inside (6 or so tables outside were filled due to the good weather), and ordered the fried zucchini (mucver) patties and the kazandibi (milk pudding). Patties had a distinct zucchini taste and weren't at all oily. Also came with a cucumber yogurt sauce. I was also served a basket of pita bread - warm and soft.
The kazandibi came just as I was finishing, but Sercan also offered me the small glass of hot Turkish tea on the house, which I accepted. I think he said it was black tea, but it was more bitter than I expected (I usually take my tea without sugar or milk), although with sugar it had a nice taste that balanced out the sweet dessert.
I expected the kazandibi to have the soft jelly texture of creme brulee, but it was slightly stickier than that - appropriate as pudding I suppose. Still, very easy to cut through, with a creamy, milky taste. I think it definitely would have become too sweet without the tea, so I very much appreciate the level of service Sercan provided to make my meal as enjoyable as possible.
I will be back soon!
