  • Prior to deciding not to renew my lease, I was dealing with a scorpion infestation. I Found over 25 scorpions in my apartment between September, 2017 and March, 2018. The pest guy said the monsoon rain drove the scorpions inside. In trying to figure out how or where they were coming in through, I discovered wide gaps on the sides of and under the front door and master bedroom patio door. After not having much of a response from management, I ended up contacting the owners in Miami, Fl. The manager finally sent maintenance to fix the gaps, but I continued finding scorpions. It was so stressful dealing with that problem. Scorpions everywhere, on the walls, floors and bathrooms. Having to kill them was equally awful. Parking. Another HUGE issue. I was on a waiting list for an extra covered space for well over a year. I was offered a space but it was a hike away from my apt, so I turned it down and asked to be kept on the list for a closer space. Whenever I asked about the spot and where I was on the list I was always reassured I was still "first". Just seemed like they were toying with me. Especially when I called and the manager offered me the space next to the one that was a hike away, which I had already explained to her was too far and not safe to park at night. I finally gave up. They also don't require tenants to provide vehicle information, so there's no accountability on the vehicles parked inside the complex. One guy wheels and deals in old trucks and because he doesn't have a regular job, he gets the pick of the few open parking spaces during the day when everyone else is working. The manager knew but never did anything about it. Be aware of the scorpions if you decide to move in and know that parking is a huge problem.
