| - I did not get my carpets cleaned by HydroCare Services, but was very unimpressed with the customer service received. I purchased a Groupon based on the service area being within 30 miles of a certain zip code. After doing my due diligence and ensuring I was within the area by at least a few miles, I purchased the voucher. However, when trying to schedule an appointment, I was told to send a text with my address and the type of Groupon purchased and that I would receive a response within an hour. Nearly 3 hours later, I was told it would be an additional $20 for being outside of the service area. When I brought up that the "fine print" just lists a zip code and that I was within the prescribed radius, I was then told that it was a radius from the business address (which is not what was listed on the voucher). I was a bit put off that the company did not want to honor the voucher as it is written and somewhat felt like I was being "nickel and dimed" - if it's happening before the appointment, who's to say it would happen later too. So, instead of fostering the support of a new customer (which I think was the intent of the company using Groupon in the first place), their treatment of the situation has made it so I would think twice before using them or recommending them to anyone else. It also compelled me to write a review in hopes that others don't have this same issue in the future. At minimum, I hope the company updates the details on their Groupon information to state the correct service area by listing their address rather than a zip code. They seem to do good work according to other reviews, so I'm ultimately disappointed. The Groupon was refunded (by Groupon).
