  • I received a call from an diamond resorts international representive on July 21, 2015. The rep stated that I won and will receive a free vacation and could win $100,000 from the drawing. She informed me that they only have one spot left for the free vacation an the drawing. She told me that I did not have to purchase anything and the vacation is free. She goes over my information and she stated that I have to call two other numbers to get the confirmation codes (which I thought was odd). She then stated that I had to bring my DL and a major credit card (again, I thought was odd) to show proof of my residence. She went over all the vacations that I get to choose from and how excited it would be if I win the $100,000. Then she slipped in that I had to also sit for a presentation but that was just procedure before I can pick my free vacation. I confirmed my date and time with the rep and everything was set. After receiving three more call from reps at diamond international resorts to confirmation the same information I got suspicious of the company so I brought my fiancée along because I didn't trust what they were saying. We get there at it's pack with people. Come to find out it a sales presentation with an sales rep. We were there for over 90mins with sales reps trying to get us to make a lifetime purchase that we would be stuck with for LIFE. The presentation was nice but at the end they go over prices and the maintenance fees is something that the customers are stuck with paying for life (that they fail to mention until the end). The way they work is you are paying for points so you would pay $13000 for a vacation package and you would also pay $878 in maintenance fees a year to keep the package. They wanted $1887 down payment instantly. We informed the rep that we are NOT purchasing anything because we were told that we didn't have to but he still tried to convince us to purchase their products. After we still said no for another 4 times the rep still tried to convince us. We said no for a 5th time and the sales rep got an attitude and stated "well fine I have another showing in 30mins and if you don't want to purchase the product then they will." My fiancée tried to explain that he doesn't make big purchases without doing research on the company and looking at our finances and the rep stated, "if this is something that you want you would buy it not and not later." After he stated that I figure this company could be a scam. The rep then stated that he has to go b/c he has another showing and he sent another rep to us to give us a deal. The deal was they would give us 15,000 points to use in within 18 mths and we could then transfer the unused points to the package but the catch was we still had to pay $$$$$ and the $$$ maintenance fees a year. We of course turned the deal down and they brought up to get our "free" vacation and to complete the drawing for the $100,000. We didn't win the drawing and the "free" vacation they promise you have to pay $50.00 and depending the airline tickets. On the way home I did some research on the company and every single webpage they had horrible reviews. They are not even accredited by the Better Business Bureau and they have some many complaints about then on the BBB webpage. Trust me we are glad that we turned down the offer and I wish we could get out time back for even going to that presentation.
