  • I have worked for veterinary clinics in the past for 15 yrs and never ever did I have remains of my pet or any others returned as such. I opened the plastic black box and found my cats remains returned in a brown paper lunch bag, stapled shut, labeled on the outside with a post it note stapled to the bag. Charge was an additional $100 for remains to be returned and this is what you get back? I suggest you ask what company your clinic will be using and stay away from this one if you are sensitive...personally, I do not feel these are my pets ashes in this bag I received. Too many ashes and heavy for a 10 pound cat AND as with any reputable crematory, a body identification tag is assigned at pick up which follows the body through the cremation process to provide some kind of documentation to the individual cremation. They DID NOT. AMES is one of the top notch pet crematory services if you are seeking more dignity and respect for your deceased pet with their remains in a more sentimental/loving container. Beware of what extra cost you are paying at the vet for a private cremation with ashes returned... and what you are receiving for your money.
