| - This company did not video my wedding but I would like to share my experience in dealing with one of their owners Rebecca. I found this company online and the prices are very cheap so I was obviously very interested. The videos looked mediocre quality and for the price I decided this could potentially work. The owner, Rebecca replied to my emails very promptly but in a very short and indelicate type manner. I decided to look past this because of the price and wanted to move forward. She sent me a contract which I signed and an invoice which I immediately clicked to pay in full. While trying to pay for the services to hold my date/processing the payment I was advised the company doesn't accept American Express. Although it CLEARLY has an American Express payment logo ON THE INVOICE itself indicating to the customer this form of payment is accepted. I will attach a screenshot of this if i'm able at the end of this review. I emailed the company letting them know I wasn't able to proceed and Rebecca replied saying "We only accept VISA, Mastercard or Discover. Please use one of those."
my response: "Okay, you might want to remove the American Express symbol from the invoice since you don't accept it. Its in the screenshot I sent over leading customers to believe you accept this form of payment. Just a tip for future transactions. Unfortunately, I don't have another form of payment so might need to submit at another time when I have something else besides American Express."
I wrote this reply assuming they would allow us to make another payment, possibly tomorrow with a different card, i mean, surely they see this type of issue all the time at their "Multi Million Dollar" Business. This should be an easy fix, right? Little did she know, I was already making preparations to use my Fiance's credit card and try to pay again but thank GOD he is at work and didn't pick up the phone as while I was calling him this is the reply I received:
"Dear Amanda
Due to non-payment per clause 2: Payment shall be made to FMS by as follows: FMS shall be paid a 50% non-refundable deposit to reserve the date. The remaining balance shall be due one (1) week prior to the wedding. If the package above is on sale or special discounted price, then the full amount is due to take advantage of the price. In addition to any other right or remedy provided by law, if The Client fails to pay for the Services when due, FMS has the option to treat such failure to pay as a material breach of this Contract, and may cancel this Contract and/or seek legal remedies. Therefore, the failure to pay is a breach of contract and Film Monkey reserves the right to cancel said contract anytime. Please take this as legal notice that the contract is cancelled and Film Monkey nor it's agents will be filming your wedding."
What kind of company responds to a simple email in this type of manner? So glad I didn't book with these people! It looks like all of their negative reviews turned out to be true.
