I feel scammed.
I went into this store looking for my weekly bubble tea fix, but not wanting to walk all the way to The Alley for it. I fussed around with the menu and ordered a passion fruit bubble tea (it's the 5th on their "top hits"); making sure to ask if the fruit was real as I have digestive issues with artificial fruit tastes.
Initially I was hesitant to purchase as it was $7(+ $50 cents for added tapioca), a price I really didn't feel like gambling on a flavor with. But I purchased it as I felt guilty taking the time of the young and confused cashier.
Big mistake.
My order came, within seconds of sipping on the drink I realized something was off... it was artificial. The tapioca / jelly tasted like plastic. I tried to push through to enough it, but within a few minutes of sitting there sipping I felt sick.
I couldn't drink this poison... So I went to complain, I told the cashier about the taste & asked "what are you going to do about it?". Was there a refund policy or something? Would a new drink be made?
He bluntly said no, no refunds, no fixes & no apologizes.
I've had bubble teas in the past where seconds after drinking I've complained about the artificial taste & been offered a remake without those ingredients or even a voucher/refund. See I know my digestive system, so I always beforehand ask to know if the ingredients are 1. Do not have powered milk or 2. Real fruit & not replacements. I asked the cashier, was misinformed & given a product that made me sick/I wasted 7.50 on.. which as a student is steep.
Moral of the story: do not get your bubble tea here. Go anywhere else.
