I brought my car here after I tried Canadian Tire's Redtek refrigerant recharge. I recharged my AC using their recharge kit, which I now realize wasn't necessary. After recharging, the AC wasn't nearly as cold as before so I decided to bring it in to get checked out. After my car was in the garage for about 20 minutes I was told it needed a new condenser and compressor ($1401.16 for parts) + labour, bringing the repair bill to over $2100 with labour. I declined to have the repairs done before I got a second opinion.
I then brought my car to a different garage in Ajax, where the mechanic there inspected my AC. It turns out that I discharged refrigerant when I was recharging my AC using Redtek. I got my compressor refilled and the system recharged. The AC now blows colder than it ever has. I would not recommend going to Canadian Tire for service unless you have money to throw away.
